Receptionists

Carrie, pictured on the left, has been the morning receptionist since 2003. Carrie is very active in local rescue groups, so if you're looking for a pet or trying to reunite one you've found with his owner, check with her. She has also 'adopted' two feral colonies of cats in Hoover that she feeds on a regular basis and traps as she's able for spay/neuter and release. Carrie is a bubbly person who has never met a stranger. At home she has a total of nine cats and dogs, most of whom started out as fosters but knew they'd found their forever home with her.
Danielle, pictured on the right, is the afternoon receptionist. She worked for the clinic a few years ago as kennel assistant, returned to us a few months ago in the same capacity, and is now one of our receptionists. Danielle has worked as a waitress at a few restaurants around town, so her gift of gab will be put to good use keeping clients happy. Danielle has a house full of cats and dogs.
Vet Techs/Assistants

Kathy, holding one of the clinic cats, joined the clinic in 1996 and is the lead vet tech/assistant. She has been fortunate to have worked with animals for the past 23 years. Kathy started in wildlife rehabilitation, then worked in a small mixed animal/exotic veterinary practice before coming to Metro Cat Clinic. She enjoys her work both from the medical aspect and for the opportunity she has to give hands-on TLC to all our patients. Kathy shares her home with a pride of little 'lions', all of whom enrich her life on a daily basis.
Rosie, pictured below Kathy on the left, began working at the clinic part time in late 2009. She has worked at the Emergency Animal Medical Center for six years and is currently working on her Certified Veterinary Tech certification. Rosie is active in animal rescue and helps her family take care of a menagerie of animals on their farm - 7 horses, lots of cows and chickens, a few goats, 15 barn cats, 3 dogs, 3 pot-bellied pigs, a chinchilla, and a tortoise. Rosie is happiest when every new day brings new challenges.
Kennel Assistants
Charlotte, pictured on the left, is the morning cage cleaner and cat caretaker. She started working at the clinic in 1990. Charlotte, though quiet and rarely seen by clients, knows what is happening throughout the clinic. She is also the main caretaker of the rotating colony of feral cats that live mainly behind our building complex. Charlotte lives with her mother and three cats and considers the birds in her backyard part of her pet family. She loves fairies, rainbows, and the color purple.
Pam, pictured on the left, is a recent addition to the Metro Cat Clinic family, although she remembers coming to the clinic with her mother when she was only 10 years old and vowing that one day she would work at the clinic! She is Charlotte's afternoon counterpart. Pam has volunteered at shelters, where she concentrated on cats, but this is her first time working in a veterinary practice. Pam has her private pilot's license and volunteers at the Southern Museum of Flight. She shares her home with two cats, Bella and Sugar Plum.
Office Manager
While the rest of the clinic is doing things medical, Mary Kay works quietly in her office, keeping the clinic running smoothly. Occasionally she also fills in as receptionist. Mary Kay retired from Southern Progress Corporation, which publishes Southern Living and Cooking Light magazines (among others), where she worked as a liaison between the technical and non-technical employees, translating between the groups so projects could be defined and implemented. Mary Kay was a long-time client at Metro Cat Clinic before she became the Office Manager in 2004. She has four cats, three of which were adopted from the clinic, and she recently became a grandmother.
